Smoke A Fatty BBQ Nashville is a family and faith based food sports team.

Smoke A Fatty BBQ Nashville is a family and faith based food sports team.
Smoke A Fatty BBQ Nashville began as a concept back in 2020.
The idea was to establish a food sports team the entire family would a be part of. Finding instant success by earning Two 1st place, One second place and being crowned the Overall Grand Champions in the very first BBQ competition the team entered set the tone and fueled the desire to compete as often as possible in an array of food sports.
Since that cold November morning in 2021, the team has grown into a successful competition team with plans to be active for many years to come as proud members of the Kansas City Barbecue Society, Steak Cook Off Association, Memphis BBQ Network, International Chili Society, the World Food Championships, with plans to enter the newly formed Pizza Cook Off Association in 2023 along with other contests.

In November 2021, we entered our 1st BBQ competition, the Hendersonville PigFest. We came home with a 1st place Novice Pork Belly, 1st Place Novice Pork Ribs, 2nd Place Pork Loin, and Overall Grand Champion. Not bad for our first time competing!
We entered the Wartrace Harvest Festival Chili contest just for fun, and were surprised when our slow smoked beef roast chili took 2nd place.
We got our 1st kcbs call in only our second Kansas City Barbecue Society competition with 2nd place in ribs!!
In our second Hendersonville BBQ competition, we took home 1st Place Advanced Chicken and were named Overall Grand Champions!
At HIgh on the Hog BBQ Festival at Tim Ford's Lake we were blessed with a 5th place call in dessert, 11th place in gourmet burger, and 13th place in both chicken & ribs on our way to a finish of 12th place overall.
The team competed in the 2022 World Food Championships World Chili Open, bringing home a 4th Place finish.
The team competed in the 2nd annual Hendersonville PigFest earning a 1st place in ribs, 10th place in Peoples Choice and 9th place overall.
The team competed in the 3rd annual Hendersonville Pig Fest earning a 3rd place in ribs, 11th place tie in Peoples Choice and 25th place overall out of 53 teams.
In 2021 and 2022 the team competed in several Steak Cookoff Association events. Both Papa and Jo are SCA members have become SCA Certified Steak Judges.
We wrapped up our 2023 BBQ competition season with our best kcbs competition so far, earning top 10 calls in all 4 categories, 4th place chicken, 10th place ribs, 3rd place pork, 6th place anything but, to claim our first kcbs Reserve Grand Championship!! What an amazing way to end our 2023 campaign. #Glory2God!
We returned to Myrtle Beach in 2023 to compete in the World Chili Open for the 2nd year.
Our entry finished in 5th place.
